Epiphan Webcaster X2 Set-Up
- Connect a network Ethernet cable (preferred) and power cable to their appropriate ports located on the back of the Epiphan Webcaster X2.
- Connect a mouse to one of the encoder's USB ports.
- Double-click the multi-function power button to choose a third-party streaming platform, in this case – Switchboard Cloud. The Switchboard Live logo will appear on the screen.
Pairing your Epiphan Webcaster X2 to Switchboard Cloud
- After adding in all of your destinations in the onboarding wizard, the next option will be for you to select your encoder type.
- In the Switchboard Cloud, onboarding wizard please select External and then the Epiphan Webcaster X2 as the encoder option.
A modal will appear, prompting you to type in a Pairing Code. This code will be provided by the Epiphan device.
- Enter the Pairing Code and click Pair
Starting the Epiphan Webcaster X2 with Switchboard Cloud
- Once you've successfully paired your Epiphan Webcaster X2 with Switchboard Cloud, you can actually control the encoder from the Switchboard Cloud app. You can START | STOP the encoder from the Switchboard Cloud interface. How neat is that!
Going Live with the Epiphan Webcaster X2 with Switchboard Cloud
- Once you've successfully paired, your Epiphan Webcaster unit you will need to click the START ENCODER button to instruct the unit to send live video to Switchboard Cloud.
- There will be a green dot letting you know that the device is online and communicating with Switchboard Cloud.
- It will take 20-30 seconds for the confidence monitor to display the incoming live video from your input; HDMI or USB.
- Think of this mode as a preview mode. It allows you to check your video and audio settings and configure your destinations, before actually going LIVE to your chosen destinations.
- Switchboard Cloud will now receive video from your Epiphan Webcaster X2 and provide you with multiple visual indicators confirming that video is being received properly, as well as displaying live video in the confidence monitor.

- Lastly, the UNPAIR button is greyed out NOTE: You can not unpair while the unit is streaming! Why would you want to do that? :)

The green LED on Webcaster X2 flashes when your broadcast goes live, it stops flashing when the broadcast ends.
Epiphan Webcaster X2 | Powered Off
- If you power off your Epiphan Webcaster X2 the default mode while in Switchboard will appear to be unpaired; see image below:

But keep in mind once you power the unit back on it will check in with your Switchboard Cloud account and transition to a Paired mode to let you know that it is online and ready to start streaming.
