If you run into issues when trying to start a native YouTube destination within Switchboard Cloud you can try several different troubleshooting methods listed below.
Check the Stream Title
If you've applied an active template to the destination group make sure that there's a stream title in the designated YouTube field.
Step 1
Press the stop streaming button for the YouTube destination.
Step 2
Press the pencil icon to quickly check the active template.
Step 3
Notice in this example - the stream title fields are empty.
You must provide a stream title for an active template.
Step 4
Provide a stream title for YouTube. Press SAVE
Step 5
Press the Go Live button for the YouTube destination.
After a few seconds, the video will publish on the YouTube channel.
Reset the YouTube Stream Key
Reset the YouTube Stream Now Key to see if this resolves the issue.
Step 1
Make sure you have pressed the stopped streaming button for the YouTube destination in Switchboard Cloud.
Step 2
While logged into the appropriate YouTube channel go to the following URL:
https://www.youtube.com/live_dashboard
Step 3
YouTube Control Room will open.
Scroll to the Stream Settings Section, located below the YouTube preview monitor.
Step 4
Then click the Reset button to reset the stream key.
Step 5
Return the Switchboard dashboard and re-authorize the destination.
Press the blue info button to open the destination info panel.
Step 6
Open the Authorization tab. Press the Authorization button and follow the prompts.
Step 7
Close the window.
Now try starting the YouTube destination within Switchboard Cloud.
