This support article will go over the steps on how to connect your Switchboard Account to StageIt.
StageIt is an online venue where artists perform live, interactive, monetized shows for their fans directly from a laptop, offering fans unique experiences that are never archived.
Let's rock and roll!
Step 1
On the top navigation menu select Performer Tools > "Create a Soundcheck"
A new page will open.
Some of the fields are pre-filled by StageIt.
Headliner is filled with your name and the title is "Soundcheck"
Date, time, and duration, ticket price, and available tickets.
You can make changes or keep it.
* You must checkmark the box for Advanced Broadcasting.
This will give you the necessary RTMP information so that you can connect StageIt with your Switchboard account.
Press Save.
A new window will open, confirming that you have created a soundcheck.
Press Go to Stage.
Show Information
A new window will open providing you with the RTMP information that you will need to connect StageIt with your Switchboard account; the Server Address and Stream Key.
StageIt Server Address = Switchboard RTMP Address
StageIt Stream Key = Switchboard Stream Key
Open a new tab and log into your Switchboard account.
Navigate to the destination group to which you want to add the StageIt destination.
Choose Add Destination > New Destination > RTMP from the destination Menu.
In the following steps, you'll go back and forth between StageIt and Switchboard as you connect the two.
Copy and paste the RTMP information from StageIt into Switchboard.
Next, rename the custom RTMP destination so that you can easily identify for later.
Press the blue info button, type in the new name.
Congratulations! You've successfully added StageIt as a destination to a Switchboard destination group.
Test the Connection.
PLEASE NOTE:
StageIt recommends performing the soundcheck on Google Chrome.
You'll need a second StageIt account (or a friend with their own StageIt account) to verify the incoming feed. One account is used as the main headliner of the event, and the second account is used to verify the 'soundcheck'.
If you are verifying your soundcheck with a second StageIt account, we recommend that you perform the soundcheck in a separate incognito window.
As the Performing Headliner
While on the StatgeIt RTMP page. Press Go to Stage.
A second window will open. Scroll to the bottom.
Copy the Soundcheck URL and paste it into an incognito browser.
Log into your second StageIt account.
- Alternatively, you can share the Soundcheck URL with a friend to verify Soundcheck, but they will need to log in or sign up for their own StageIt account.
Start sending the video from your encoder into your Switchboard account.
When the video shows in the Switchboard confidence monitor, press the green Go Live button next to the newly added StageIt destination.
As the Performing Headliner, press GO LIVE.
As the soundcheck person.
On the incognito window, press the play button to view the incoming video.

Congratulations! You've successfully added StageIt as a destination to your destination group.
Ready to Go Live!
On the top navigation menu, select performer tools.
Click the "Create a Show"
A new page will open so you can fill out the information for your upcoming event.
Upload an image in square dimensions.
190 px X 190 px.
Fill out the required information, such as the headliner name and show title.
Choose the date, time, and duration of the event.
Ticket price, show description, and genre.
* You must checkmark the box for Advanced Broadcasting. Press Save.
Start sending video from the encoder into the Switchboard account.
Once you have the video showing in your Switchboard confidence monitor, hit GO LIVE next to the StageIt destination.
Pro Tip: You can save time and eliminate the need to press Go Live in Switchboard by enabling the autostart feature, explained here: Enable the autostart feature.
