Critical error
If you see a "critical error" showing when you are live streaming, you can press on the critical error to open a pop-up window.
The pop-up window will provide insight as to what may be causing the error.
Troubleshooting tips- critical error
TIP 1
Make sure there is content showing on the Switchboard confidence monitor.
You can't go live to a destination if Switchboard isn't receiving content from a live streaming encoder.
TIP 2
Refresh your web browser - that is the first thing you should do if you see a critical error displaying next to a destination.
TIP 3
Click on the destination social icon to verify whether or not the destination is live streaming.
Click on the critical error - read and take a screenshot of the error message.
Press stop streaming next to the destination.
Wait a few seconds and start streaming to the destination again.
TIP 4
Twitter - Critical Error - Check the stream title for quotation marks (" ") and remove them.
Stop streaming to Twitter.
Press the pencil icon to open and edit the stream title.
Remove any quotation marks from the first stream title field.
Press save. Try to go live to Twitter again.
TIP 5
Certain destinations with requirements and permissions.
Facebook groups require the Switchboard app has been added.
Streaming with errors
If you receive the red banner at the top of your workflow page with this message:
"Streaming with errors. 1 of 2 active destinations are reporting stream errors. For details, click the ERROR button"
First, try to refresh your browser page.
- If you are still receiving the error message, press the blue Info button next to the problematic destination(s).
